The former Vice President of Nigeria and presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, Atiku Abubakar has reacted to report that Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila allegedly cornered tens of billions of naira in oil and gas royalties from petroleum regulatory commission.

Atiku Abubakar’s reaction was contained in a statement that media aide, Paul Ibe shared on his official X handle on Tuesday, July 14, 2026.

In the statement that surfaced online, the former Vice President of Nigeria stated that the level of corruption under the current administration is unprecedented.

Atiku Abubakar stated that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu can not be persecuting members of the opposition while covering his own officials. The former Vice President said the Chief of Staff must be investigated.
