Mr. Olatunde Zacchaeus, a teacher who was among the victims of the Oriire school abduction in Oyo State, has spoken about how they were were released.
Speaking in an interview from 17:07 with Nigeria Info FM, Zacchaeus said he and another male were blindfolded, handcuffed and chained throughout their time in captivity. He said on the day they were released, the leader of the kidnappers came to meet him and other captives and told them to thank God because they were about to be freed.
Zacchaeus said the kidnappers then removed the blindfolds on him and the other victim, unlocked the chains and handcuffs, and ordered them to leave.

So we were also praying until the last day when their commander came and they were just laughing, they were smiling. They said we should thank God that we have been freed.
