According to a video from 2:44 posted on the official YouTube channel of Arise News on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, Country Director of ActionAid Nigeria, Dr. Andrew Mamedu, said the allegations surrounding Adeniyi Adeyemi and the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC) should not be treated as the actions of one individual alone but as a case that raises wider concerns about government accountability.
Speaking during the programme, Mamedu questioned how official processes connected to the PFIPC allegedly continued even while Adeyemi was reportedly in detention. He said, “At one point, he was in detention when this year’s budget was being debated, and somebody was still processing it.”
According to Mamedu, the development raises critical questions about those who allegedly handled documents, approvals, and budget-related processes linked to the PFIPC while Adeyemi was no longer in a position to do so himself. He argued that investigators should identify every individual who may have played a role in processing or approving activities connected to the agency.
Mamedu maintained that restricting the investigation to Adeyemi alone would fail to address the root of the controversy. Instead, he urged authorities to carry out a comprehensive probe into everyone allegedly connected to the PFIPC affair, regardless of their office or position.
