Iran’s President, Masoud Pezeshkian, has highlighted what he described as a growing international stance against Israel, asserting that several major countries are taking positions rooted in their historical and cultural values.
In a statement posted on his verified social media account, Pezeshkian said that “the essence of civilizations reveals itself at critical historical junctures,” pointing to the position of countries such as Spain, China, Russia, Türkiye, Italy, and Egypt.
According to him, their opposition to what he termed the “warmongering and crimes of the Zionist regime” reflects deep cultural and historical convictions.
The remarks come amid escalating geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, particularly following the breakdown of diplomatic talks and the intensification of military activities involving Iran, the United States, and Israel. Several global powers have recently voiced concern over the situation, with calls for restraint and a return to diplomacy growing louder.
Countries including China and Russia have criticized military escalation and emphasized adherence to international law, while Spain has taken steps reflecting its opposition to certain military actions in the region.
