According to a report by The Sun, on Monday May 4, 2026, Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has stated that opposition parties in Nigeria are losing strength because the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) is performing well in government.
He explained that the achievements of the APC have made it harder for opposition parties to gain support from Nigerians, according to him, many critics expected the APC to fail, but the party has done better than those expectations.
He stated that this has reduced the chances of opposition groups to stay relevant as the country prepares for the 2027 general elections, he spoke about Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his economic reforms.
He stated he strongly supports the president and wants him to win re-election, he noted that the reforms may be difficult, but they are already bringing positive changes, especially in Nasarawa State.
He added that the policies introduced by the Tinubu administration are helping to reshape Nigeria’s economy, according to him, Nasarawa State has benefited from these changes, and more results are expected in the future.
Sule also said the APC remains the strongest political party in Nigeria, he believes that the party’s performance in governance will continue to weaken opposition efforts to build support across the country.
