Popular Nollywood actor Yul Edochie has once again reaffirmed his unwavering support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, stating that his political loyalty is deeply rooted in what he described as divine guidance.

Speaking during an interview with Glitch Africa on Monday, May 25, 2026, the actor explained that his admiration for Tinubu did not begin with the popular “City Boy Movement,” but started long before the political slogan gained nationwide attention.

According to Edochie, he has never hidden his political views from the public. The actor noted that people who follow him on social media are already aware of his consistent support for the Nigerian president through his posts, comments, and public statements. He stressed that he strongly believes in Tinubu’s leadership style and remains convinced that supporting him is the right decision.

Speaking during the interview, Edochie said, “I stand by President Tinubu. I started supporting Tinubu even before City Boy Movement came, I am a City Boy. I support Tinubu and I don’t hide it. Don’t you see my posts? Anyone following me will see it. God has been showing me who to support and he keeps showing me Tinubu. I am going to stand by it.”

The actor’s latest remarks are coming shortly after he reacted to criticisms aimed at Igbo individuals who openly support Tinubu ahead of the next general election.

In an earlier post shared on his X page, Edochie condemned what he described as unfair attacks against fellow Igbos because of their political choices.

He argued that politics should never become a reason for division, hostility, or ethnic tension among Nigerians, especially among people from the same region.
