According to a report by Vanguard Newspapers on Monday, May 25, 2026, Nyesom Wike has expressed disappointment over the actions of Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara during the political crisis that rocked the state, saying the governor failed to demonstrate the expected level of restraint and maturity at a critical moment in the dispute with members of the Rivers State House of Assembly.

The FCT minister stated that many political stakeholders had expected the intervention of President Bola Tinubu to calm tensions in Rivers State and encourage dialogue between the executive and legislative arms of government instead of actions capable of escalating the crisis further.

Wike said, “By collecting the form first, he didn’t show signs of gentlemanship. He didn’t show that sign, and that was not expected. We thought that Mr President had been intervening severally and pleading with the legislature not to continue with impeachment.”….Read_More…
