Nyesom Wike, while addressing the ongoing crisis in Rivers State, explained the various groups he believes are behind the tensions. He mentioned that there are factions linked to Atiku, Peter Obi, and certain PDP governors. According to Wike, Atiku’s group feels that he and his allies prevented Atiku from winning the presidency.
In a live coverage by Symfoni TV from 1:57, Wike claimed that Peter Obi’s supporters had made strong efforts to gain his backing during the presidential election, but he refused. He further explained that within the PDP, there is another faction of governors eyeing the presidency, who view him as an obstacle.
In addition to the PDP factions, said that even some members of the APC are involved in the political battles. However, he asserted that they would all ultimately fail in their efforts against him.
