According to a recent video from 0:45 by Church Gist, Pastor E.A. Adeboye recounted the 2014 Chibok schoolgirls’ kidnapping in Nigeria, which drew global attention, including intervention efforts by former US First Lady Michelle Obama.
After intense negotiations and ransom payment, the abductors demanded the girls convert to Islam for their release. While most complied, one brave Christian girl boldly declared, “I will never deny Jesus.” The others were freed, but she was held back.
Pastor Adeboye used the story to challenge believers on the depth of their commitment to Christ. Referencing Apostle Peter, who denied Jesus three times despite his earlier bold pledge, he warned against overconfidence in faith under pressure.
He prayed that no trial would ever cause anyone to deny the Lord, urging the congregation to decide firmly: “What is your decision concerning the Lord?” The audience responded with a resounding “Amen.”
His Words: “ Some hoodlums kidnapped several girls from a secondary school. The incident made world news because even Mrs. Obama tried to intervene. After all the outcry, the kidnappers said, “Alright, if they bring the ransom money, we will release the girls.
The money was paid, but the kidnappers then turned to the girls and said, “Once you convert to Islam, we will let you go.” Only one girl refused. She boldly declared, “I will never deny Jesus.” The kidnappers released the others but kept that one.” Read_More…
