In a candid interview on Arise TV from 19:31, a Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, Ladan Salihu highlighted the importance of inclusivity and unity by drawing attention to the historical appointment of Chief Emeka Anyaoku, an Igbo man, to the foreign service by Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa, a Northerner.

Salihu emphasized that this appointment exemplified a mindset that valued individuals based on their qualities and capabilities, regardless of their ethnic background.

He suggested that if Anyaoku had adopted a similar approach by involving his Northern contemporaries in the formation of the Patriots, the group would have been perceived as more diverse and comprehensive, reflecting the true spirit of national unity.

According to Ladan Salihu, “Chief Emeka Anyaoku was employed into the foreign or diplomatic service by Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa. He is a Northerner but he saw him as an Igbo person that has quality and can deliver I cawm talking about that kind of mindset. Now for the same person to go across his contemporaries in the North and he knows them. It will be seen to be a broad base and it will be seen to be comprehensive.”….VìêwMorê
