Former Rivers State Governor and Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT),Nyesom Wike, has described his relationship with former Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi as one rooted in political collaboration and mutual history, despite their well-known political differences in recent years.

Wike made the remark during an interview on Channels Television, on Monday, 1 June, 2026, where he reflected on his past working relationship with Amaechi and the role he played in his administration before both politicians eventually parted ways politically.

Speaking during the interview, Wike said, “Amaechi is my brother. I served as Chief of Staff to his government.”
