Chidi Odinkalu, a renowned human rights activist and former chairman of the national human rights commission has taken to his official X handle to react after Edo State governor, Monday Okpebholo composed a special song for president Tinubu during the recently concluded APC campaigns in Edo South senatorial district.
According to the statements which were shared on his official X handle on Sunday June 14th, 2026 he pointed out that the governor performed an act that was unworthy of his office.
Governor Monday Okpebholo, it can be recalled, left many stunned after he took over the podium to deliver a memorable rendition, praising the president for his achievements in the state and other parts of the country.
The cheering crowd, numbering thousands who converged from different parts of the state, were also left in disbelief after the governor boldly declared that he cannot be kidnapped.
The statements, which triggered massive public attention, caught the attention of Chidi Odinkalu who in his venomous remarks, made it known that the governor was unworthy of his office.
However, while the statements from governor Monday Okpebholo was viewed as a mild appeal to criminal elements to desist from their nefarious activities, the comments from Chidi Odinkalu indicated that a leader of his capacity should have considered his utterances.
