Popular activist and social commentator Adeyanju Deji has sparked a massive online debate after predicting the outcome of the 2027 presidential election, claiming that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will easily secure a re-election victory if former Vice President Atiku Abubakar is absent from the ballot.

In a Facebook post shared on Thursday, Adeyanju argued that without Atiku, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate would defeat Peter Obi of the Labour Party and Rabiu Kwankwaso of the NNPP by over seven million votes. He described the election as a “walk over” for Tinubu, dismissing the voting strength of the northern region for Obi, whom he referred to as a “religious bigot,” while praising northerners as politically sophisticated.

The post, which has quickly gone viral, has generated intense reactions, amassing over 3,900 likes and nearly 3,000 comments as users clash over the political dynamics of the North. He further noted that Atiku remains the greatest threat to Tinubu’s re-election, adding that current sentiments in northern Nigeria are not favourable to the ruling party.

The post read: “Tinubu will defeat Obi/kwankwaso with more than 7million votes if Atiku is not on the ballot. It will be a walk over from the minute Atiku is not on the ballot. Even if Atiku campaigns for Obi, Tinubu will still defeat him. Northerners will not vote Peter Obi the religious bigot. No section of the country is more politically knowledgeable and sophisticated than northerners. They understand politics so well. Atiku is the greatest threat to Tinubu’s re-election. Everyone that understands Nigeria political history knows this. The dynamics and sentiment in northern Nigeria is not looking good for the ruling party.”
