Nigerian singer Patoranking has sparked a conversation online after comparing the electoral processes of the United States and Nigeria, expressing sadness over the normalization of electoral malpractice in his home country.
In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter) on Thursday, November 5, 2026, the singer pointed out the stark difference in how elections are conducted, noting that despite the intensity of the American elections, no lives were lost and no ballot boxes were carted away. He lamented that the Nigerian system has conditioned citizens to accept bad things as normal.
The post, which has since gone viral, amassed over 66,800 views, more than 1,600 retweets, and hundreds of comments, as netizens concurred with his observations regarding the country’s political climate.
The post read: “Nobody Die for America Election Nobody carry ballot box Run sometimes Nigeria go make you feel like say Bad things na Normal thing….sad Much”
