Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has insisted that the forthcoming election must take place as scheduled, saying he had heard reports of plans to change the date following an experience in Kaduna State.
Atiku made the remarks in a video from 0.55 shared on X on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, by Abdul Rasheeth, his Special Adviser on Media.
The statement followed a meeting between the African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate and leaders of the Tinubu Must Go Movement at his residence in Abuja.
In the video, Atiku expressed concern over the reported possibility of postponing the election, linking the alleged plan to events in Kaduna State. He maintained that the election should proceed.
Emphasising his position, Atiku said, “I heard that they want to shift the date of the election because of their Kaduna experience. The election must hold”.
