Hakeem Baba Ahmed has questioned the extent of political power President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has amassed in three years, comparing the president’s influence with that of Nigeria’s former military rulers.

Baba Ahmed made the remarks during an interview from 12:45 on TVC on Thursday, October 29, 2026, where he discussed Tinubu’s position within the country’s political system and the influence his administration holds across different levels of government.

He argued that the president’s political reach and the authority available to the Federal Government have contributed to a significant concentration of power since Tinubu assumed office.

Explaining his assessment, Baba Ahmed pointed to the number of state governors he believes are aligned with Tinubu, alongside the resources and influence wielded by the Federal Government.

He stated, “Not even a military leader has accumulated more power, legally and otherwise than Tinubu in 3 years.”

Baba Ahmed also highlighted the president’s relationship with state governors and the strength of the federal administration as factors behind his assessment of Tinubu’s growing political influence.
