Minister for Youth and Sport Development and chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has criticised the reaction of the ruling party to recent opposition activities, describing it as an indication of political tension.
Speaking during an interview from 3:57 on Channels Television on Friday, May 1, 2026, the ADC chieftain commented on developments surrounding the opposition summit held in Ibadan, focusing on how members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) responded to proceedings at the event.
“But you see their behaviour, how they monitored Ibadan, submit. They extend that. Immediately, Seyi mounted the podium. The governor of Oyo state. Before he could step down, they were already crying and shouting on top of their voices. Oh, he’s calling for anarchy. Oh, he’s calling for this, he’s calling for that. That is the level to how threatened they are,” he said.
He further alleged that the reaction from APC members reflected a sense of unease despite the party’s control of key political and economic structures at the national level.
“With all the 31 governors, with all the monies from electricity tariff, with all the revenues from withdrawal of oil subsidy, with all the trillions of borrowings, both external and internal, Tinubu is still not secure,” he added…Read_More…
