In a recent interview from 15:45 shared by Arise News, President of ANAP Foundation and Founder of Stanbic IBTC Bank, Atedo Peterside, raised concerns about political participation among supporters of Peter Obi ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Speaking on the evolving dynamics within opposition parties, Peterside focused on the activities surrounding the African Democratic Congress (ADC), which has recently gained attention as a potential coalition platform. He noted that while some regions are witnessing increased political mobilization, a significant segment of supporters appears less engaged in the registration process.
“Obidients are not registering with the ADC; I don’t know whether Obi has asked them to register or if they are waiting until the last minute,” he said.
According to Peterside, the pace of registration in certain parts of the country suggests that political awareness and grassroots mobilization vary widely. He observed that northern states appear more active in registration efforts, while participation from other regions remains relatively low.
The former banker emphasized that political outcomes are often influenced by early organization and participation, noting that delays in mobilization could affect the strength of any emerging coalition.
