A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Joe Igbokwe has raised alarm over the escalating insecurity in Northern Nigeria, warning of dire consequences if urgent measures are not taken to curb the menace of banditry.

In a Facebook post shared on his official page, Igbokwe expressed deep concern about the continued attacks by bandits, noting that both security personnel and civilians have become frequent targets. His comments come amid growing public anxiety over the persistent insecurity across several northern states.

In the post, he stated, “The bandits in Northern Nigeria are killing Nigerian soldiers, they are killing ordinary Nigerians left and right, they are extorting money from Nigerians. When the Federal Government unleashes kinetic approach do not blame anybody.” The statement underscores his support for a tougher, forceful response by authorities to address the worsening security situation.

Igbokwe’s remarks highlight the increasing frustration among political figures and citizens alike, as reports of kidnappings, killings, and extortion continue to dominate headlines.
