In a revealing video broadcast on Symfoni TV from 3:19, PDP federal lawmaker Imo Ikenga Ugochinyere has launched a strong criticism of Sam Anyanwu’s attempt to retain his position as PDP National Secretary after his unsuccessful gubernatorial bid in Imo State.
Addressing the party’s leadership controversy, Ugochinyere stated, “The point is that the very moment you decided to run for a governorship election and emerged as the governorship candidate of the party, and your name was submitted, automatically, you are no longer the National Secretary of the party.”
The lawmaker accused Anyanwu of misleading the party, saying, “He finished all this, he crowned himself a governorship candidate, misled all of us, without people knowing that we were not ready for the election.” He further alleged post-election misconduct, stating, “Now, after you lost the election, having worked for the interest of the APC without us knowing, you now return back and say you are still the National Secretary of the party.”
In a particularly pointed criticism, Ugochinyere referenced Anyanwu’s alleged association with former Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike, declaring, “Then you start carrying Wike’s handbag when he’s going to Port Harcourt, and that’s your qualification to come back.” He concluded with allegations of legal manipulation, stating, “And then, before he says that, they started obtaining injunctions for him in different courts so they can remain in office, so they can sabotage the party.”
