The candidate of the African Action Congress, AAC in the 2023 presidential election, Omoyele Sowore has reacted after the Nigerian Army said Investigative journalist, Fisayo Soyombo was arrested on an illegal oil bunkering site.

According to PREMIUM TIMES, the Nigerian Army said;

“Only recently, intelligence revealed the existence of a notorious gang of oil thieves noted for bursting pipelines and illegal connections for oil theft in the region. Reacting to the statement, Sowore said the Army knew from the onset that Fisayo Soyombo was investigating oil bunkering carried out by the usual suspects. He said the Army in Port Harcourt must release the Journalist.

Here is what he wrote on his page;

“I have just read a watery press statement by the Nigerian Army that journalist, Fisayo Soyombo was arrested on an oil bunkering site and undergoing interrogation.

The Nigeria Army knew from the point of so-called ‘arrest’ that Soyombo was investigating oil bunkering carried out by the usual suspects, including some high-level security officials. His arrest and illegal detention was primarily aimed at covering up these atrocities”.
