In a recent video from 8:52 shared on Facebook on Friday, May 8, 2026, Niger Delta activist and traditional ruler, Asari Dokubo, commented on issues surrounding land ownership and political influence in Rivers State, while reflecting on his relationship with key political actors in the state.

Dokubo spoke about territorial claims and the historical connection between certain communities and Rivers State, suggesting that some areas being discussed publicly are deeply tied to the state’s identity and leadership structure.

According to Dokubo, “We have Abadima and Felemi; all these things are Rivers State land, and they belong to me and Wike.” He made the statement while referring to territories he believes are connected to Rivers State and linked to himself and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.

He further explained that conversations about land and political authority in the Niger Delta region should be approached with historical understanding and recognition of existing state boundaries and traditional influence.
