During an interview from 18:24 on Trust TV, Bibi Farouk spoke on the leadership styles and political appeal of key Nigerian figures, drawing comparisons between past and present presidents.

Farouk argued that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu possesses a political mindset similar to that of past leaders such as Obafemi Awolowo and Moshood Abiola, suggesting that such figures commanded influence beyond their immediate regions. He added that Northern support has historically played a role in the emergence of some Southern leaders on the national stage.

He further compared Tinubu with former President Olusegun Obasanjo, contending that Tinubu has demonstrated stronger political appeal. According to Farouk, Obasanjo faced significant rejection in parts of the Southwest during his time, which he used to underscore his argument about Tinubu’s standing.

According to him, “Tinubu has that sense of mentality. He doesn’t need you. That was the same mentality Awolowo had and, you know, to some extent Abiola had, but northerners still supported them because they felt that it’s a pan-Nigerian thing. Northerners brought in Abiola. Northerners brought in Obasanjo. Tinubu is better than Obasanjo, to tell you the truth, because Obasanjo was rejected by almost 90% in the southwest—almost 90% in his own polling booth.” Read_More…
