Human rights activist and former presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore has alleged that the opposition coalition leaders protests today against the delisting of ADC leadership was driven by personal political interests rather than genuine concern for the Nigerian people.

Speaking in an interview from 3:30 with Symfoni TV, Sowore said, “Assuming they hadn’t touched them, they would not have used bulletproof vests to protest. So that’s my position. I support them and in fact, I shared their flyer this morning on my Facebook page so that people would join, and we sent people to join them,” he said.

He added, however, that he personally did not attend because he had not been invited. Sowore argued that his opposition was rooted in principle rather than electoral calculation, pointing out that he had opposed wrongdoing even when those now leading the coalition were themselves in power.

He described their brand of opposition as one driven by convenience and that once the 2027 elections were over, many of them would return to their comfortable lives abroad and disappear from the public space until the next election cycle made their presence politically useful again. Read_More…
