Former Executive Secretary of the NHIS, Prof. Usman Yusuf, has weighed in on Peter Obi’s reported move from the ADC to the NDC ahead of the 2027 presidential election, describing the former Anambra governor as the “spoiled child” of Nigerian politics. He argued that Obi has consistently enjoyed political advantages, claiming that major opportunities, including his presidential tickets, have often come to him with little resistance.

Yusuf further stated in the video from 4:56 aired on YouTube that Peter Obi has never truly faced intense intra-party competition, which, in his view, explains his departure from the ADC. He added that Obi struggles when confronted with the realities of tough political battles, especially when established power brokers and the so-called big players in Nigerian politics are involved.

According to him, “The real question and answer is, both these two men are afraid of competition. Real men don’t run away or walk away from a good fight, they don’t. Peter Obi has never had to work for his ticket. The ABGA ticket he got was handed to him, and he ran and became a governor in Anambra State. The Labour Party ticket he got in 2022, he didn’t go through primaries, it was handed to him. The vice presidential ticket was handed to him by Atiku, so he has not seen real intra-party competition. He’s who I call, with all due respect, the spoiled child of Nigerian politics, everything is being given to him. He can’t stand the real fight when the big boys come into the ring, he can’t.”….Read_More…
