A survivor from Maro community in Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State has appealed to the government to intensify efforts toward rescuing residents still being held captive following attacks and abductions allegedly carried out by armed terrorists in the area.

The appeal was made during a town hall programme aired by News Central TV from 2:41 on Thursday, May 7, 2026, where survivors of violence from different communities shared accounts of attacks and insecurity affecting their areas.

During the programme held in Jos, Plateau State, the speaker, identified as Bulus Makadas Maikyau, spoke in his local language while another participant translated his comments into English.

According to the translation presented during the event, Makadas said members of his community were attacked while they were worshipping. The translator stated that the speaker said terrorists invaded the area during the gathering, killed some residents, while others who attempted to flee were captured.

“The speaker said he is from Maro, Kajuru local government. He said while they were worshipping, the terrorist came and attack, they kill some of them. Some try escaping but all of them were captured and are still being held and he is pleading with the government to come to their aid,” the translator said during the programme.

Makadas also reportedly disclosed that he received fresh information about suspicious movements within the community while attending the event in Jos.

“He said while he was here in Jos, he received news yesterday that some of the terrorists passed on a lot of bikes, going inside one of the locations in the village. He’s pleading with the government to come to their aid,” the translator added.

The survivor further recounted an abduction incident said to have occurred on July 3 of the previous year, during which several residents of the community were kidnapped.

According to the translation, some of the abducted persons later regained freedom, while others remain in captivity. “He said on the 3rd of July last year, some of the people in their community were kidnapped and some came back, some are still held,” the translator stated.

The testimony also highlighted the experiences of some female victims who reportedly returned from captivity pregnant. “Some of the women that came back, some of them came pregnant and they were married before they left. But the husband said they are not going to keep them as wives again,” the translator said.

The speaker concluded by appealing to the government and security agencies to intervene and secure the release of those still being held by the abductors. “So he is pleading with the government to assist, especially to rescue those who are still held captive,” the translator added…Read_More…
