Dan Nwanyanwu, National Chairman of the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP), has strongly criticised the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Lateef Fagbemi, over comments suggesting that the ZLP did not win any election and therefore deserved to be deregistered by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Speaking during an interview from 3:51 on SYMFONI TV, Nwanyanwu accused Fagbemi of making false claims about the political party’s electoral performance and constitutional standing.

The ZLP national chairman expressed outrage over what he described as misinformation from a senior government official. According to him, the party remains a legally recognised political organisation with electoral victories and constitutional rights that cannot be ignored.

“I’m saying with due respect, with greatest respect Attorney General, you lied. That is the greatest lie from pit of hell,” Nwanyanwu declared during the interview.

He argued that the Attorney General’s position was inaccurate and misleading, insisting that the ZLP had participated actively in Nigeria’s democratic process and recorded victories in previous elections.

Nwanyanwu maintained that political parties should not be threatened with deregistration based on what he called selective interpretation of electoral laws.
