Taiwo Aliu, a relative of some of the victims rescued from the abduction at Community High School, Esiele, in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State, has described the emotional trauma his family endured while the children were in captivity.
Speaking during an interview from 1:28 on Channels Television on Monday, 13 July, 2026, Aliu revealed that two of his children and two other children from his extended family were among those abducted during the attack on the school. He said the uncertainty surrounding their safety left him devastated until news of their rescue reached the family.
According to him, “My first and second born were also kidnapped along with 2 of my relative children. I was devastated since it happened but I just got some respite for the first time, I can sleep again.”
Aliu explained that the kidnapping threw his family into deep emotional distress, with every passing day increasing fears over the safety of the children.
