During an interview from 11:17:28 on AIT on Friday, July 17, 2026, Ezeocha Nzeh, a political analyst, commented on allegations and public speculation surrounding the death of Mary Habila, a nurse who was found dead in a guest house within the private residence of the Minister of Works, David Umahi, in Uburu, Ebonyi State.

Nzeh said the circumstances surrounding the incident warrant public scrutiny, arguing that relevant questions should be asked to establish the facts. He added that public office holders are often expected to account for issues that arise in their private or official environments when they become matters of public interest.

According to him, “Our politicians assume a lot. They acquire a lot, both what is acquirable and what is not acquirable. We should ask Dave Umahi, What was Mary Habila doing in his private home, not even at the Federal Ministry of Works, but allegedly in his home?”
