Paul Ibe, the Special Adviser to the former Vice President of Nigeria, Alhaji Waziri Atiku Abubakar has reacted after it was reported that the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike has threatened to shut down venue where Goodluck Ebele Jonathan will be unveiled as PDP candidate.

The reaction of Paul Ibe was contained in a post that he shared on his official X handle on Friday, May 29, 2026.

This is coming after PDP announced that a special convention to ratify the presidential candidature of the former President will be held in Abuja.

However, in a post that was published by DAILY POST, it was stated that the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT has threatened to shut down Class Event Centre where the event has been scheduled to hold.

“We are certain that Nigeria is a country governed by law and any attempt to use force to suppress political dissent and opposition is an aberration which must be resisted by all people of good conscience”.

Reacting after the report surfaced online, Paul Ibe stated that Wike is in no position to determine whether an organization is illegal or not.

“That responsibility rests squarely with the courts. Or does the FCT Minister think that his non-practising lawyer status and membership of the Body of Benchers now qualifies him as a judge of the impunity order”….Read_More…
