Beauty entrepreneur Dabota Lawson has revealed that her mother quietly offered her a last‑minute escape from her wedding, sensing that her 24‑year‑old daughter might not be fully ready for marriage.

Dabota also pushed back against narratives that portrayed her as a poor girl rescued by a rich man, stressing that she came from a privileged home with an engineer father who was MD of NAFFCON and a businesswoman mother, enjoying foreign holidays, elite schools and a sprawling Port Harcourt mansion.
Dabota Lawson said: “Even on the day, my mom said to me, ‘If you want, we can leave this place.’ And I said, ‘What are you saying?’ I was 24. People thought it was a Cinderella story where this man just came and picked me from nowhere, but I came from a very good home. My dad was MD of NAFFCON, my mom a businesswoman. That’s the kind of life we had.”….Read_More…
