According to a report by The Times Of Israel on July 9, 2026, Amnesty International has accused Israel of destroying entire families during airstrikes on Lebanon throughout the conflict with Hezbollah, urging that the attacks be investigated as possible war crimes. The rights organization said it reviewed several incidents in which civilians were killed after residential buildings were hit.

The conflict intensified after Hezbollah launched rockets into northern Israel on March 2, saying the attacks were carried out in support of its ally, Iran. The cross-border assault drew Lebanon deeper into the wider Middle East conflict and prompted a major Israeli military response.

Israel answered with extensive airstrikes and a ground offensive across parts of Lebanon. Lebanese authorities say the fighting has resulted in more than 4,300 deaths, including over 250 children. The Israel Defense Forces has stated that by late June, it had eliminated more than 2,500 Hezbollah operatives since early March, among them hundreds of fighters from the group’s elite Radwan Force.

Amnesty International said its investigation focused on three separate strikes on civilian homes carried out between March 6 and March 13. According to the organization, the attacks claimed the lives of 24 civilians, including 12 children.

The organization said its conclusions were based on interviews with 15 individuals connected to the incidents. Those interviewed included survivors, relatives of victims, emergency responders, journalists who visited the strike locations, and local government officials.

Amnesty said the evidence gathered during its investigation raises serious concerns about whether international humanitarian law was respected during the attacks. It urged that the incidents be independently examined and that anyone found responsible for violations be held accountable through appropriate legal processes….See More
