Former Governor Rotimi Amaechi has stated that he will not protect anyone involved in insecurity, including members of his own family
In an interview from 50:28 with Trust TV on Monday, May 18, 2026, Amaechi said he loves his wife and his three children deeply, but if any of them becomes involved in criminal activities or insecurity, he would get them arrested
Amaechi stated that while serving as governor of Rivers State, he fought insecurity by targeting wealthy individuals who were sponsoring criminal activities. He said once those funding insecurity were dealt with, the crime rate in the state reduced significantly
