Former Rivers State Governor and former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, has criticised the current political and governance environment in Nigeria, linking rising insecurity and public outrage over the Oyo school attack to what he described as growing boldness in corruption.
Amaechi made the remarks during an interview from 4:44 on Trust TV while reacting to recent violent attacks on schools in Oyo State, an incident that has sparked national concern over the safety of children and educational institutions.
The former governor expressed concern that corruption and misuse of public funds have become more visible under the present administration, alleging that individuals who engage in theft no longer hide their activities.
Speaking during the interview, Amaechi said, “In this government people are now bold enough. In the past, when you steal money you will hide it but now when they steal they build hotels, buy cars and do investments with the money they stole under this government.”
