Professor Wole Alamu, husband of abducted Oyo school principal Mrs. Folawe Alamu, has revealed that he blocked the kidnappers’ phone number at the height of the ordeal after realising the stress of their calls was driving his blood pressure to dangerous levels.

Speaking in a media coverage by Splash FM from 14:36, Professor Alamu said, “I blocked their number. I told them you cannot kill me here and kill her there. So choose one. If you want to take her, she is going to be with Christ, I am very sure of that. You cannot kill the two of us at the same time,” he said.

He noted that the move rattled the kidnappers, who immediately confronted his wife in the camp with news of what her husband had done. “They went to meet her and said, ‘Madam, your husband has blocked us. We are going to kill you.’ She said, ‘You will not kill me. In Jesus’ name.’ So they left,” he recounted.

Hs said he believes his defiance gave his wife the strength to stand firm against her captors. Throughout the ordeal, he said, church leaders never left his home, surrounding him with constant prayer and words of assurance that his wife would return safely.
