In a recent interview from 1:32:14on Nevon HQ, on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, Dele Momodu, an ADC chieftain, assessed the likely voting patterns ahead of the 2027 presidential election, highlighting the continued political influence of Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, in the Southeast. Momodu explained that every major presidential candidate would rely on traditional strongholds while seeking to expand support into other geopolitical zones. He added that winning the presidency requires broad national acceptance rather than overwhelming support in a single region.

According to Momodu, Obi is expected to retain considerable popularity in the Southeast because of the goodwill he continues to enjoy in the region. However, he argued that the outcome of the presidential election would ultimately depend on voting patterns in other parts of the country, particularly the North and the Southwest.
