In a post on his official Facebook page on Sunday, August 16, 2026, former Minister of Youth and Sports, Comrade Solomon Dalung Esq, has questioned whether Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, has critical political lessons to learn from the outcome of the gubernatorial election in Osun State.

Dalung’s remark is said to come against the backdrop of contrasting political trajectories across the country. In Osun State, Governor Ademola Adeleke successfully navigated intense opposition, confronting political machinations from federal lawmakers, governors, and party leaders from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to secure electoral victory.

Conversely, Rivers State has been engulfed in a prolonged crisis involving Governor Fubara and his predecessor, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory Nyesom Wike. The confrontation led to deep political fractures, party realignments, and Fubara’s eventual decision to step back from the APC governorship primary race to prevent further conflict and maintain state stability.

Sharing an image of Governor Fubara on his official social media platform, the former minister issued a one-line query directed at the state executive amid intense national conversations surrounding political survival and godfatherism. “Does this one have any lesson to learn from the outcome of the election in Osun State?” Dalung asked.
