Daniel Bwala, Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Media and Policy, has argued that former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi cannot be compared with President Bola Tinubu, insisting that the records of Tinubu and some of the governors he mentored are far ahead of Obi’s achievements in office.
Speaking during an interview from 0:44 on Echoo Room on Friday, 17 July, 2026, Bwala dismissed comparisons between the President and the former Labour Party presidential candidate. He maintained that the performances of former Lagos State governors Akinwunmi Ambode and Babatunde Fashola, both of whom served after Tinubu, were superior to Obi’s record as governor of Anambra State.
Emphasising his position, Bwala said, “What Ambode did, Peter Obi didn’t do half of it. If you go to Fashola, same. Sometimes, when I sit and people compare Peter Obi and Asiwaju, I will say ‘life no balance’.”
The presidential aide argued that the developmental projects executed in Lagos under successive administrations reflected the quality of leadership nurtured by Tinubu.
