Sama’ila Kaiama, President of the Borno South Youth Alliance, has provided a new update on the fate of 416 residents abducted by Boko Haram in Ngoshe, a community in Borno State.

Kaiama disclosed the development during an interview from 4:50 on News Central TV, where he spoke on ongoing efforts by families and intermediaries to establish contact with the abductors. His remarks come amid heightened anxiety among relatives of the victims, who have been seeking credible information since the mass abduction occurred.

Detailing recent communication linked to the kidnappers, Kaiama said: “After this video, they asked us to put it out that they would want to monitor and see what’s happening and they would now give their demands.” The statement suggests that the insurgents may be preparing to outline conditions, potentially opening a channel for negotiation or further engagement.
