Dickson Chollom, a member of the Plateau State House of Assembly representing Barkin Ladi Constituency and chairman of the House Committee on Works and Transport, says the perpetrators of recent killings in Barkin Ladi are now known and should no longer be described as unknown gunmen, according to report by VANGUARD on Wednesday April 8 2026.

He made the remark while visiting Heipang District on a sympathy and fact‑finding mission after an attack that left three people dead and one critically injured.

Chollom’s office, through his Senior Strategic Media and Communication Adviser George Lambert, identified the deceased as Marvin Choji, 23; Bitrus Choji, 24; and Daniel Dung, 59. Stephen Davou, 48, is receiving treatment for serious injuries.

The statement added that one suspect has been arrested and has confessed, naming others involved in the assault. Chollom said the description unknown gunmen will no longer be accepted.
