Lauretta Onochie, a Chieftain of the African Democratic Congress, ADC and former presidential aide has taken to his official X handle to react after Babachir Lawal announced his departure from the party.
According to the statements which were shared on her official X handle on Monday June 1st, 2026 he pointed out that the ADC were aware that he would leave after the departure of Mr Peter Obi and Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.
Babachir Lawal, a former aide to President Tinubu made the stunning decision to leave the ADC few months after identifying with the party, a platform which he stated had the credentials to serve the people better.
However, his departure was met with diverse reactions as many sought to know the reasons behind his decision to severe ties with the ADC.
Lauretta Onochie, widely admired for his outspokenness, however, maintained that his decision should not come as a surprise to those who closely monitored his political trajectory.
