Precious Okafor, a 16-year-old schoolgirl from Amichi in Nnewi South Local Government Area of Anambra State, during an interview with The Punch correspondent, explained how she was raped by Evangelist Dozie Ezani, the General Overseer of Jesus Is Ontop Ministry, Amichi.
According to her, she had been living in Lagos before her aunt brought her back to the village in November 2025 for what was described as a “special deliverance.” She added that before returning to her hometown, she had been in SS1.
She further narrated that her aunt had told the people she was living with in Lagos that a pastor claimed she was possessed by seven marine spirits and needed to come to his church in Amichi for deliverance. According to her, they arrived at the pastor’s residence at night, where she spent the night, and her aunt handed her over to him before leaving.
She stated that the pastor in question was Evangelist Dozie Ezani, the General Overseer of Jesus Is Ontop Ministry in Amichi, Nnewi South Local Government Area of Anambra State.
In response to the question about whether she met the pastor’s wife, she said, “Yes, I met his wife and the children. I slept in the same room as the children that night. Later, while I was asleep, the pastor came into the room and started touching me, but I pushed his hands away. After several attempts, he eventually left. I later overheard his wife asking him where he had been, and he told her he was ‘checking on the children.'”
The next day, he took me to his church for deliverance and had canal knowledge of me.
She explained that the following day, the pastor took her to his church in Amichi to carry out the so-called “special deliverance.” She added that he told her she was possessed by marine spirits from the seven seas and that she urgently needed God’s special intervention to be freed.
Further talking, she said, “But while the deliverance was going on at the altar, he attempted to force himself on me, but I resisted. For days, he didn’t give me food. At one point, I became very weak due to hunger, and the pastor overpowered me and started forcefully having intercourse with me. He did that several times on the altar during the deliverance session.”
She alleged that he forcibly had intercourse with her both in the church and sometimes at his poultry farm in Igboukwu, a neighbouring town in Aguata Local Government Area.
She further stated that he instructed people to stay away from her, claiming that she was possessed by seven marine spirits. She added that he threatened to kill her if she told his wife or anyone else about his actions, leaving her with no one to turn to for help and no possibility of intervention because of the false claims he spread.
