Abba Kaka, an anti-corruption crusader, has questioned the official account surrounding the death of Dolapo Babatunde Tanimola, the alleged middleman linked to the Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council (PFIPC) scandal, saying there were inconsistencies in reports that a hotel fire led to the incident.

Speaking during an interview from 8:48 on Arise News on Thursday, 23 July, 2026, Kaka reacted to the ongoing controversy surrounding the PFIPC, a purported government agency that allegedly operated from the Federal Secretariat in Abuja for nearly two years and was reportedly allocated N1.3 billion in the 2026 budget despite questions over its legal status.

According to Kaka, “They said fire gutted but there was no news of fire gutting any hotel in Utako at that time.” He made the remark while expressing doubts about the reported events surrounding the death of Tanimola, whom he described as a key link in the alleged transaction connected to the PFIPC controversy.

Tanimola reportedly died at the National Hospital, Abuja, in October 2025 following an incident at a hotel in the Utako area of the Federal Capital Territory.
