In an interview with the Sun on Sunday, May 10, 2026, the National Publicity Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Bolaji Abdullahi, made a striking behind-the-scenes revelation about the inner workings of the opposition coalition, disclosing that Peter Obi had quietly wielded far more control over the group’s affairs than was publicly known.

Abdullahi, who served as secretary of the coalition before it formally aligned with the ADC, revealed that the entire scheduling of coalition meetings was effectively in Obi’s hands. “I was the secretary of the coalition, before we even came to the ADC,” he noted, establishing his firsthand knowledge of the arrangement.
