The Chief Executive Officer of YSJ Limited, Yemisi Joluwe, told The Punch that she had been informed that two of her workers, Gbolahan Olaniyi and Kazeem, were kidnapped, prompting the immediate involvement of security agencies in the case.

She said she and her company promptly notified the authorities, who made efforts to respond to the situation, and she rejected claims that she abandoned the victims during the ordeal.

Joluwe further explained that she was deeply pained when she later learned about the killing of one of the victims by the kidnappers, adding that investigations were still ongoing and that the company would not relent until the circumstances surrounding the death were fully uncovered, insisting that there was more to the incident than had been disclosed.

She also reacted to claims made by the farm manager that a ransom of ₦2 million was paid by his mother into an account allegedly linked to the kidnappers.
