Amanda Onyiribe, a small-scale entrepreneur and single mother affected by a recent demolition in Lagos, has shared the emotional and financial toll the incident has taken on her life.
During an interview with PUNCH on Sunday, May 10, 2026, Amanda said the destruction of her business has left her overwhelmed and struggling to cope.
She revealed that her mother was devastated by the news, believing the business had brought stability to the family. She said that she now finds it hard to take her mother’s calls because she has nothing to offer.
Amanda described herself as mentally exhausted, saying she has lost control of everything she worked for. According to her, the loss has affected not just her income but also her dignity and sense of survival, leaving her stranded and uncertain about starting over.
