According to a report by Nigerian Tribune on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, Pa Adetunji Ajayi Adeniyi, father of the embattled acclaimed Director-General of the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council, Prince Mathew Adebayo Adeniyi, has recounted how police officers allegedly carried out two separate operations at his residence in Ogbomoso, Oyo State, while searching for his son.
He said the security operatives first visited his home in the Technical College area during the early hours of Saturday before returning again on Monday, when he was reportedly taken away for questioning.
According to Pa Adeniyi, the first incident occurred at about 12:30 a.m. on Saturday when security personnel allegedly arrived at his residence in large numbers.
He stated that the officers were searching for Prince Mathew Adebayo Adeniyi and carried out what he described as an aggressive operation around the premises in an effort to locate him.
He alleged that the operatives gained access to the property by jumping over the perimeter fence after bending the barbed wire installed on it.
Pa Adeniyi further claimed that they broke the padlock securing the entrance gate before spreading around the compound and demanding that members of the household open the door to the building.
The elderly man said the security officers conducted their search within the premises while insisting on knowing the whereabouts of his son.
He maintained that the operation caused anxiety within the household as the officers surrounded the residence before making repeated demands for the family to grant them access into the house.
Pa Adeniyi further disclosed that the police later returned to the same residence on Monday at about 11:30 a.m.
He said the officers again sought information concerning his son’s whereabouts and subsequently took him from his residence to the Sunsun Divisional Police Headquarters for further questioning.
He explained that he remained at the police facility for several hours before he was eventually allowed to return home later that day.
According to his account, the questioning centered on efforts by the authorities to obtain information regarding Prince Mathew Adebayo Adeniyi, whom they were reportedly searching for during both visits to the residence in Ogbomoso.
