According to a video posted on the official YouTube channel of Arise News on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, the leadership crisis within the African Democratic Congress continued to generate controversy as Don Norman, spokesperson of the Dumebi Kachikwu faction, questioned the legitimacy of the Senator David Mark-led leadership.
Speaking during an interview from 14:34 on The Morning Show, Norman maintained that the group loyal to Dumebi Kachikwu remains the authentic leadership recognized by the party’s National Executive Committee. He argued that recent developments within the ADC were being misunderstood by many Nigerians because of conflicting claims from both camps.
During the interview, Norman declared that “David Mark’s National Working Committee is a thing of the past; it only existed as an interim body.” He explained that the leadership headed by the former Senate President was temporary and had no permanent constitutional authority to continue managing the affairs of the party.
Norman further claimed that a Federal High Court judgment had already restricted the David Mark-led committee from conducting congresses and conventions on behalf of the ADC.
