A graduate of the University of Jos, John Azi, has recounted his traumatic experience after being kidnapped by suspected gunmen, revealing that he was tortured and repeatedly questioned about his religion while in captivity.
According to report by VANGUARD on Wednesday May 13 2026, Azi explained that the abductors threatened to kill him after suspecting he was a Christian. According to him, the kidnappers fired gunshots everywhere, creating fear and panic.
He explained that out of fear for his life, he initially denied being a Christian because he believed the kidnappers would harm him if they discovered his faith.
The victim further disclosed that the situation worsened when the abductors began beating him severely during interrogation. He said he eventually cried out “Jesus” in pain, which exposed his Christian identity to the kidnappers.
Azi said, “They were shooting guns everywhere and asking questions. Out of fear, I initially denied being a Christian because I thought they would kill me.”….Read_More…
