In an interview from 47:03 on The Role Model Chronicles with Femi Rogers, Bode George, a former chairman of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) and chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, stated that he was wrongfully imprisoned in 2009.
Chief George said Bola Tinubu and some members of Afenifere conspired to have him jailed. He said during the court process, the judge found him and other NPA board members guilty of contract splitting but stated that no money was stolen from the NPA.
George said despite this finding, he and the others were sent to prison and ended up spending 18 months at Kirikiri Maximum Security Prison. He also said that even with everything that happened, he no longer holds any personal grudge against Tinubu.
